Mosey you are kidding! We have always "feared" racoons, even though I always thought they were so cute. This is a fun photo!

awww I remember growing up, we would set a cookie on the front porch and wait, before you knew it you'd hear a small knock at the front door and we'd have about 5 or 6 coons all standing there holding their hands out... We'd go through an entire package of oreos a night! They were so cute and so polite as they each waited their turn!

This happens at our house, too. When we feed the cats on the back porch we have to limit them to what they'll eat otherwise the coons, opossums, and a strange little skunk come to eat the leftovers.

Whoa, those are some big coons! DH put our trash in the back of the truck Sunday night and I noticed coon prints in the dirt. I think they helped themselves, but at least it was easy to pick up.

My, the raccoons around our place are too quiet and sneaky to be seen. The only way I know they were there is the pillaging they do. (or the dead ones by the road) Great catch, was it light out or did you actually get close enough for a flash?

We can't leave food out on the back deck because of these critters. I guess since all the cats sleep up front they stay away from that bowl.

my mom has the same problem... they also bathe in the cat's water bowl on the porch!

'coons LOVE cat food---I think they can smell it for miles or just happen to be out scouting and find it. We have them come in the barn and eat cat food. I keep cat food in large barrels with lids. When the Raccoons begin dropping by, I place two large cement blocks on top of the lids, but there have been some of these clever critters that can move those heavy blocks.
