Bless his heart. I teach 5th grade and have a child with Asberger Syndrome with tics. Some days are very long and difficult. I pray that he will be happy and find many strong friendships. He is fortunate to have a loving and strong family to bolster him. TFS!
Wonderful LO, touching story. My 9-year old son has a girl with TS in his class ... all the children have been explained what this means and what this can do to this girl, or make her do ... her main tic is flapping her hands uncontrollably ... I must say, all of the kids have responded extremely well to her and have accepted her sometimes unexpected behaviour. This shows how important the right guidance and explanation can be... TFS!!
He is a blessing and I am sure he brings joy to all who mets him! I have worked with with several adult clients who have Tourettes and they are a joy- I hope someday there will be move advanced treatments!
He IS a brave little boy. Be sure to give him a hug from all the scrappers here. Tourettes is hard to deal with. Just last week Ann Landers (or whatever it is now) had a column dedicated to it. It was very interesting and helpful to others, so they can understand it better. You also made a beautiful page here!
What a great layout and touching backstory. I wish him the best. I know via my daughter what a heartbreak it can be at times to watch kids go through such tough stuff. Indeed, he sounds like a brave boy.
There's a quote that goes something like "If life brings you to it...God will bring you through it."......Thanks for sharing Joseph with us --- what a beautiful kiddo. So hard to know why things happen the way they do....we just have to try and keep faith that more blessings and healing will come. What a special gift this page is for him from you. He and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! Hugs, M
love the lo great colors and love how you shared the story with you ill keep your family in my prayers. just remenber with god all things are possible.
first off beautiful lo.. secondly this is such a touching story I'm so glad he has such a wonderful family I know that makes a great difference. My husband and I are leaders in the cub scouts and one of our cubs has the same thing. Its hard for them but He also has a loving family. & a brave little boy.
This is my sweet great nephew Joseph. Jospeh was diagnosed with TS (Tourettes Syndrome) in Sept 07 at the age of 8 about the time this picture was taken, (the reason for this choice of photo). The last year has been a hard year for him, but he is a brave little boy! School is the biggest challenge, sometime his tics are so bad he cannot sleep, which makes concentrating in school very hard. When he tries to supress or when he is anxious the tics are worse, this makes for some long school days for him. Writing takes longer because of the tic's & some activities he has had to give up ( such as swim team)The other children can be kinda cruel... we all know how kids can be sometimes. He is in public school & our hope is he can continue to be there! He has a great family & we all have learned so much in the last year! We just want him to be happy! Of course that is what we all wish for our children! I have faith in Joseph! I know he will be fine! I have a wonderful family & we have been truly blessed with this Brave Little Boy. The journaling is a quote by Robert Frost " the best way out is always through" Thanks for taking a look :D
