Color me jealous!! I have not yet gotten to this point in my pages. I'm still very 'basic'. This is great!! I'm tagging this for my favorites... good reference when I brave up and try more things.
This is great-- you have a real knack for putting a page together that is very detailed and pleasant to look at. Fabulous job-- love the pics, love the colors you used, love the ribbons . . . love the page! :)
Decathalon Challenge Final week #10 Chinese Menu Style
First things first.
REQUIREMENTS, Technique, color, and embellishments.
A. Technique 1. Sanding 2. Tearing 3. Painting
B. Colors 1. Green 2. Yellow
C. Embellishments (the real challenge) 1. Something from a hardware store. I used a metal washer for my letter "O" in Mommy mixed molding paste and paint together to get that textured look. My letter "M" and "E" are reflective letters you use on mailboxes or signs that I distressed by sanding. 2. Clear but with color. I used clear round tile with green and orange stripes between the & and Me on page 1. 3. Something from a bathroom. I keep my handy dandy sewing kit in their and I used thread to string between my brads. I also used a paper plate from my kitchen to make my Letter "M" in mommy. I modge podge 3 layers of paper onto the paper plate, burnt red, beige, and brown. I sanded the heck out of it to try and show all the layers and then added two more coats of modge podge.
D. Contain some reference to China or Chinese. Made my hubby order chinese food and I used the fortune from the furtune cookies on page 2. They say: (top)"You understand how to have fun with others, and to enjoy your solitude." (bottom) "Fearless courage is the foundation of victory." Perfect with the pics of my 3yr old rock climbing and playing at the park.
Products used page 2 Basic Grey Vagabond MM brads Ribbon unknown hinges unknown MM photo turns Prima flowers Marcella by Kay rub ons "cherish" Bookplates unknown Safety pins wire screen
On this page I sanded the main pic around the edges attached with flower brads to wire screen. Used a hinge (pic does not open up) added sheer ribbon attached with safety pin
All the little tags pull out with personality traits of my 3 yrd old. I pulled one of them out so you can see 1. "Funny and Silly" 2. "Creative and Adventurous" 3. "Sweet and Kind" 4. "Loving and Helpful" 5. "Gracious and Compassionate"
I used sewing thread to sting between the brads.
My file folder opens up with journaling to my daughter.
