This tree was made using a Kit from Carolee's Creations (AdornIt!) and papers and embellishments from other companies. I painted the wood edges first. Using Uhu glue stick and a brayer I next attached the patterned papers to the wood pieces (I did front and back sides). Because the green pattern is small I was able to cover all branch pieces with two sheets of patterned paper (one piece was needed for the trunk and pieced together for length, one piece for the red base and a scrap for the star). All papers were trimmed close to the wood edges using a cutting knife and then sanded. All edges wer inked with applicable colors. I sealed the pieces with a thin coat of clear acrylic then a thin coat of Modge Podge, then a final seal of clear acrylic spray.
I attached the Fancy Pants ribbon pom-pom fringe to the bottom edges of each section using Crafter's Pick, The Ultimate.
All green pieces were glued and nailed to the tree trunk. Note: The trunk fits down into the base so it's easier to store. I added some furniture pads to two sides of the trunk so it would stand more sturdy in the base.
Scrapbook.com team-member, Dedra, and I had a fun time decorating the tree. We used buttons laced and knotted with waxed thread, painted clothes pins adorned with thread and buttons and metal rimmed tags with pictures.
