I really got into this project!!! I used wire hangers (from dry cleaning) to create the 'cage". The dress form was painting, crackled, and gold leafed. I cut an opening in it for the door and put a painted and leafed wooden egg in there with my sono picture decoupaged on it to represent the womb.

The nest is made form twigs, grass, feathers, ribbon, wire, and strips of paper that have quotes from mom on them.

The butterflies are made with metal, sheet music, grungeboard and wire & beads. The wings on the woman are made from sheet metal.

My idea was that being a Mother is both a treasure and sometimes feels like being caged. Even though things look beautiful on the outside, a woman can feel conflicted and imprisoned on the inside.
