YOu go Mosey! I am just so excited to see you trying this! I hope you find it helps you find time to get more done. Could I possibly have the recipie for the spice muffins? Iam always looking for muffin recipies as we have them for breakfast most mornings. Your chili stew and burrito filling sound yummy also. How fun to exchange recipies from all over, adds a variety to my meals and makes me smile to know who it came from.
looks like hard work, but I'm sure it's well worth it. I haven't done that yet - I need a bigger freezer first. However, I do plan my menu at least a week in advance.
Woo hoo - what a GREAT feeling! I keep thinking I'm going to try this... but haven't found a day free to do it! Maybe AFTER soccer and football season! LOL
Good for you. :O) I do a middle of the road approach.....I buy all my meat at the beginning of the month, season and cook it so that it can be taken out of the freezer thawed, warmed and is ready to go with a salad and a side dish. it really cuts down on prep time. especially when I come home tired form work. I also have 10 apple pie feelings frozen and waiting for cold weather from when we picked apples last month. Right now I am trying to get into a routine for baking fresh bread every week.
I've done a little of this cook ahead and freeze thing. Red is So inspiring! I did mine not because I love cooking but because I am now busy 4 days a week with DS' sport. I'm going to see how well it works for me! Looks like someone has been taste testing the cookies, lol! =}
Looks great, I'd love to try to do that someday. We've got our freezer full, but its of uncooked meat, a whole pig and half a cow. So, it's an every day event of trying to come up with something for supper.
Looks soooooo delicious! My mouth is watering just by repeating "creamy burger dill soup" over and over in my head... I'd like to try that for sure! (Is the recipe a big family secret? LOL) Thanks to you, I feel like making my spaghetti sauce too, now! LOL
HOORAY! I love it when I see others do this. I used back "in the old days" I loved it when I had 8 apple pies in the freezer, and banana bread, and chili, and other things for those days when I didn't want to cook. Now? No freezer.
oh gosh! Just reading it makes me exhausted :) Girl you worked yourself crazy - but seems like you sure enjoyed it. I hope it all freezes well and is thoroughly enjoyed when eaten. YAY YOU! You deserve, as Sarah would say, "Mommy Points" LOL
My heart is close to home, the joy of serving my family cannot be matched!
AND, I am hoping that cooking a months worth of food in two days will help make my days a little more productive in other areas in the month to come!
I made: apple sauce, applesauce spice muffins (5 dozen, froze most of them) dried apples, apple pies, apple oatmeal cookies Then I made Steak fajitas, my homemade spaghetti sauce and meat balls, my creamy burger dill soup, chili stew, a few roasts and chicken burrito filling, I know there is something else I'm forgetting! I'm all done and have 18 meals made.
This is just a small sampling of the cooking I did over the weekend! All vacuum sealed and packed away in the freezer for easy 18 easy dinners!
