Journaling reads: "Each of our children has their own story to tell, how they came into our family. Some are biological some are adopted. If you had asked me in high school about having kids I probably would’ve told you one, or
two tops! I certainly I did not think I would have done special needs adoptions, or have five kids! But you
know, God knew and He had been preparing me for a long time for this. He has a way knowing what we want – Even if we don’t know ourselves!
As long as I can remember I wanted to be a child psychologist – I never did finish college (that wasn’t even my major at the time) but I still did a lot of research. I have always enjoyed reading and research. Today I have a child diagnosed with early onset bipolar and on the autism spectrum. I have another with an anxiety disorder and another with fetal alcohol syndrome. We have fought and worked very hard to get our children the services they need and deserve. They have made amazing strides and continue to do so every day! They are wonderful additions to our family we couldn’t imagine life any other way. All of our kids are all different and create a sometimes chaotic but always loving family dynamic. I may not have been able to serve thousands of kids as a psychiatrist, but I have been able to love and help these precious babies, mine, the ones that God gave to me. We are truly blessed."
