P.S. The "grown up" version could be with a mini Baileys or another fave liqueur, and a spiked candy cane to go with. Tie the Baileys to the handle of the mug with ribbon or include in the mug separately from the bag. To make it really look like snowman soup, a friend had suggested white hot chocolate mix and the Hershey hugs.

Snowman Soup (Holiday craft/gift)

This will be what my kids give to family members this year. The idea was one I found on a teacher's web site and it's great for anyone on a tight budget (I'm figuring all of the gifts combined will be under $20). To me, gifts from kids are always most fun when they are less about the value and more about the kid-contribution factor. What is snowman soup? It is:

1 individual pack hot chocolate mix
3 Hershey's chocolate kisses
15 mini-marshmallows
1 candy cane
mug or styrofoam cup

We'll put all of this into a baggie, tie that with ribbon and put the baggie into the mug along with the candy cane. I'll print the tag with the poem onto cardstock and have my kids write on the back who it is to and from.
