Jen this is sooo gorgeous! I love how you got the name over the photo! The shadowing of the letters is so awesome! Your paper choice is super, as always. The pens (or paintbrushes?) at the bottom are a great allusion to your shared love of art :) (at least in the 'papercrafting' form!)
Oh my gosh! I am absolutely in tears. Thank you so so much for such a wonderful lo. I'm actually speechless (which you know doesn't happen often). This is just gorgeous!
All I can say is, wow. Really, what a wonderful page, and beautiful journaling. How much of the papers and embellishments you used on this page were pre-made and how many did you make yourself? (the pens, the beautiful PP) Very inspiring work.
Journaling: My online community knows her as lorealle, the hostess of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal circle group, a yearlong collaboration of twelve artists collaborating to create twelve unique books. I didn't know our online sisterhood would go beyond posts and layouts. I didn't expect to be driving through the picturesque mountains of Pennsylvania to meet up with a woman who has become so much more than a CJ sister -- she has become a friend. Over the first few months of our circle journal group, Amy has become the kind of hostess swappers dream of: Calm, encouraging, troubleshooting, reminding, but never nagging. She has been a friend to everyone, listening, empathizing, cheering, helping, even praying for people she has never met in real life. She guards our privacy, respects our opinions, and shares so much of herself. Though I've told her my most personal stories, we've compared notes on our beloved moms and families, we've shared stories of our children and noted our husbands' good natured tolerance for scrapping and chatting... I was still nervous to meet her. Everything I envisioned was right: She is tall, elegant, with great hair, nails, flawless skin, and carries herself with grace. She's a shopper with great taste, an inspiring artist, a nurturing, proud, protective Mama, a devoted, loving wife, a cherished relative, a professional with a sharp creative mind, a Christian who lives her faith. She has never done anything to make me or anyone else feel awkward and less than, but I was still nervous as we gatthered our families at Playtime Pizza. And then she laughed, we chatted, she showed me her tattoos, we laughed as our kids bonded instantly, exchanging cards, and playing as if they'd known each other for years. We gushed over journals, shared a meal. She's appreciative of others' artwork, critical of her own, and has no idea how cool and talented she is. Yes, she's totally adorable, beautiful inside and out. This is Amy, my CJ sister, my scrapping buddy, my friend.
