I really love the stitching, and the journaling is great! What a wonderful way to remember how you got your cat! She's beautiful, and so is the layout!
Awww, what a cute story! Love that you included that here with these great photos of Thumper! Just LOVE this photo here. And the fact that she's "looking into" the other page is just down-right cool! Awesome work!
I just think your pet pages are so neat. You journal so well about their individual personalities and behaviors. Like your embellishments here... especially the stitching. I've been considering the stitching templates. Might have to break down and get them.... now.
This is page 1 of a 2 page layout of our newest family member, Thumper. The pawprints are from a punch, all adhered to these cool "stone-like" circles I found at Big Lots. The stitching was done with DMC floss (orange is variegated), using a Bazzill In Stitches template. The letters were cut with my Silhouette, though the shadows were hand-cut. There are 2 more photos hidden beneath the one, but hubby is in one of them and won't let me display it, LOL.
The journaling says: "During the summer of 2007, Rocky built a deck for the back of our house. And sometime during its construction, Thumper showed up. She made herself at home on the “deck in progress”, and just never left. We gave her some food, and some attention, always assuming that one day she would just be on her way… but that never happened. Eventually, we had to face the fact that she wasn't leaving. Our first solution seems crazy, but we just weren't ready to commit to yet another indoor cat, and we honestly didn't know how Thumper would feel about that. Obviously, she was used to the outdoors, and all of our other cats were “indoor only”. So, we put a “cat door” in our garage, in order to give her a safe, dry place to hang out when the weather got nasty. We had no idea if this would work, but it did! She learned to use the cat door, and happily jumped in each day for meal time. But eventually summer ended, and cooler weather arrived… and we caved. What else could we do? One day, she just snuck right by us when we entered the house, and we didn't have the heart to push her back out. Pretty much overnight, she went from an outdoor stray, to an indoor member of our family. The other resident felines here aren't exactly thrilled with the new arrival, but they're managing to tolerate her, for the most-part. We have no regrets, though. Yes, she can get a little carried away with those claws, but she's the biggest “lap cat” we have. She loves to play, and she'll snuggle up on your lap and snooze for hours if you let her. For better or worse, we are now a four feline family." TFL!
