I love this LO! It is a testament to how thoughtful your mom is to plan lots of fun things for ya'll....and to childhood, which usually DOES appreciate the small things as much as the big things....sparklers and worms sound awesome to me! Great concept to scrap! :)
This page still tears me up...I love your poetic story, whether it's about the girls or an everyday event. This is a beautiful example of what majesty you're capable of.
Admittedly, this is a weird title, but it works for this LO. I did this about 2 years ago. These are my nieces (Katie on the left, Allie on the right) on the 4th of July in 2006, I think. This was one of my first real LO's so please, ignore how crooked it is and amateur it is.
As usual, my Mom plans all these cool things to do during their visits in the summer. She's been doing this forever. So, really, I'm not lying when I say my Mom is the best on earth. Best Grammy, too!
Here's what the journaling reads: Mom always makes a trip to a fireworks seller so that Allie, Katie and Christopher can have a fireworks display in the front yard. She bought the usual stuff, including about 700 sparklers, but for the first time, bought "Worms". Those little pill like things that send out a wormy, endless, wiggly ash.
Covered in bug spray, the girls sat together on the driveway and waited for the next big thing. All eyes on Grammy and Grampa as they lit the worms. With all the color, the noise, the sparkle, the excitement of the early part of the evening, it wasn't what they talked about later. It was the worms!
