I would think it would have turned a dingy color by now too if it had always been white.

This is just some of the furniture I found today going through all the shops. the guy told me they were from the 1800's but I am pretty sure the white one has been recovered. as I do not think they had white furniture back them it was more beige with flower designs on it. But hey who am I to argue lol
