Fascinating history, Lizzy! I know you must miss him. This is a handsome, masculine page, with striking color. Clock addition is nice/like the red scrolls on each side of the photo. xx
This is such a treasure. You took a precious photo and made it into a beautiful keepsake. Sorry for your sadness, some things stay with us. I'm glad to see you were able to finally paper-scrap your father's photo.
The layout is wonderful and I hope you don't mind if I keep it in my faves folder.
What a sweet tribute to your dad and what a sad family history you have. It is heartbreaking to lose a parent. My mom died when I was 14 and you know, you never get over it, no matter how many years pass. I love your choices of papers here and the touch of red really brings the picture to the forefront.
I found your layout so very touching. This may be your only photo of your Dad, but it is a wonderful one. You have created a beautiful tribute and memento. My father was about a year older than yours. He died at the age of 83 and I still miss him terribly. I am so sorry for all the years you lost with your father. Writing the letter was an excellent idea.
This is a wonderful tribute to your late father Lizzy. I lost my Dad only 4 years ago and I miss him every day. Fathers are indeed special people. I hope doing this LO bought you lots of joy and special memories.
Beautiful LO and your story bought tears to my eyes. This is a great photo of your father & I love the clock and all the details!! Is your avatar photo an old one?? If not you look much younger than you are, what's your secret??
This is beautiful, Lizzy, what a fantastic tribute to your father and I'm so sorry that you lost him the day before your 17th Birthday. I'm sure he's still watching over you. He was a very handsome man.
Lizzy, this LO is beautiful and the story behind it tugs at my heartstrings. I know you must miss your father deeply. It just makes it that much more amazing to know that you've turned out to be such a lovely, accomplished, vivacious and knid woman . Hugs to you, dear friend! ....Patty
I remember your digi layout....and this is atleast as BEAUTIFUL as that one! What a lovely tribute to your father...I know it's hard for you, but I'm sure he's smiling down right now at his daughter, "The Artist"! Stunning layout, Lizzy! Into my faves!!!!!!!
Lizzy... this is TRULY beautiful..... and I understand your loss.... it really does help to scrap those memories.... Wonderful.. Wonderful LO
:)
Debbi...
Lizzy - this is amazing. What a tribute to him and to your memories and feelings about him. You just know he would have been so proud to see this. Its a sensitive layout and so exquisitely done.
What a wonderful tribute to your father. It is a great pic of course, but I love the beautiful details you added. You have put your love in this LO and it shows. Thanks for sharing..
wow Lizzy this is spectacular! really incredible work here! and so heartwarming....these are the cherished memories that we all need to commemorate for the generations after us! BRAVO! favorite for sure!
This is just beautiful...thanks for the inspiration. I'd like to do a similar page of my dad who I lost when I was 24. I'm so sad that my children never got to meet him. Just thinking of doing a LO makes me get teary-eyed...Perhaps I will try! tfs :)
My father died the day before I turned 17. It has been very hard, even after almost 35 years , to do this LO but I could write (never done before) to him a letter which is stacked behind. Sorry but I couldn't translate it .... About a year and a half ago, I made a digi LO with this same photo and I knew that some day I would do a paper LO with it again. This photo was taken the day of my parents engagement and this is the only portrait that I have. My father was born in Romania and came to Chile at the age of 19 on 1939, escaping from the II World War. His whole family disappeared during the Holocaust. For some reason, the clock is not in the right position and the hour is not the one I intended to do......(???) I left it the way it is..... TFL!!
