I was inspired to create this advent calendar after seeing a 12” x 12” advent calendar page on display at the Imagination Project booth at Memory Trends last September. It was fantastic! I made mine in a different format, so I could display it easily anywhere. The base of the calendar is a Bazzill Basics Coin Holder album. Each of the circles lifts up to reveal a puzzle piece. I created the puzzle by cutting a 4” x 6” photo of a vintage postcard into 24 1” squares. The puzzle pieces were each mounted on a piece of magnet, so that the puzzle could be assembled on our refrigerator. When the puzzle is complete it’s Christmas! For Christmas Day, I made an envelope large enough to hold a credit card size gift card. It’s tied shut with ribbon and can only be opened on December 25. So, on Christmas morning, my boys will be able to open the envelope and find a special treat. (Inside you can put a gift card to your favorite store, restaurant, the movies, etc.)

I had so much fun creating this project, and I absolutely love how it turned out! Here’s a list of the supplies I used:
