I guess I have never seen this. Can you send me a pp and tell me about how you fill the ornaments and with what and an example or two of what you wrote. I think this would be a creative and great present for my friends. Thanks for sharing!!!
Those are really nice!
Just so you know, I am a teacher and have EVERY ornament every child has given or made for me. I hang them up every year.

This is such a cute idea! I have a question, did you use 12in strips? I was going to make these for my kids teachers but mine don't look as nice as yours.
I LOVE these and I am going to try to make some for gifts as well. I attempted it last night and it turned out OK. But, I have one question though. You said the width of the strips were 1/2" but did you use the full 12" for the length? I think maybe the 12" was too long. Thanks. And again, they are beutiful.

I'm now on the prowl for some clear ornaments. Hehe. Sadly, all the big craft stores out this way are closing, so it might be tricky. I love this idea though!
I would love to have the directions for these please! I have so many teachers to make gifts for and these look easy and inexpensive! Also look like something my halflings could help with! :d
Wow, these are beautiful! I need 18 teacher's gifts...definitely going to try it....Thinking of using Christmas paper with it...Also, how small is a paper piercer? I don't have one, was going to try a crochet hook instead?
I think this one of the cutest ideas I have seen in a long while. I got some clear ornaments on sale at Joanns and plan to make these. Thanks so much for the beautiful photo.
The paper piercer makes a big difference, i did some w/ a pencil and they were just too lose once in the ball. Also, I made the strips 1/2" which looked better (to me) than 1" strips. Definately give it another shot though! :)
I tried making these but don't look nearly as good as yours do. I'll have to try the paper peircer to wind it on instead. I guess they'll be for next year now. hehehehe
Thanks for sharing, they're beautiful.
I tried a pencil, but it didn't coil them up tight enough...so i ended up using a paper piercer which is really thin. It makes a tight coil so when it unwinds a bit inside the ornament, it's perfect! TFL!
these are really cute... Dif you just coil stips of paper around a pencil or something and then sqeeze them into the ornament?
Really great idea!
Jennifer
Thanks so much for the comments!
Yes Alicia, they DO look impressive! I think the hardest part was deciding which papers to use! I tried to make them all different based on personality, etc. It's addicting! :)
arent these great! I just made 10 for my son's teachers and everyone was SO impressed at how cool they looked! Little do they know they are super simple! great job!
I made these ornaments for the 5 teachers in Josh & Justin's Preschool...They came out WAY better than the photos show. They are each different and each has a rubon "monogram" for the teachers' name.
