shcg i love the soft foucs tree pic. what a cute idea for the ornaments. i love the setup, the only thing i would suggest, is a little sparkle for christmas. oh and maybe the year in the lower right hand corner for the ballance you mentioned. but actually, i like it the way it is!
SHCG: I don't think it needs anything else... it looks great as is. This is a very cool topic for a LO. Hafta admit- as a child of the late 80's I love the My Little Pony ornament. :)
SHCG: I am so not caught up. I Luv so many things about this layout from all of the photo and journaling to the interesting background papers. My eyes are having a great time roaming around this layout again and again. I am never big on sideways titles but here it works. I would not change a thing but a little glittery stickle accents might be cute Next time...
SHCG: I love this idea of picking an ornament to represent your year, and find it incredibly sweet and cute that each ornament has such conviction behind it. It's also really cool to see that the 3 younger ones are into things kids were into when I was one (I had toys from all 3). It means the truly cool toys endure the test of time. How awesome is that mini race track?! The caddy is a suh-weet ride! Your grandma ornie is so sentimental and touching. ;( WTG on the HP reading, too. What you've actually created here are heirlooms. When they all grow up, move out, have their own trees and kids, look at what they'll have to share and look back on. What a great tradition! We add ornaments every year from places we've visited, but, I digress. I love the photo corners as arrows, the shaped pp, and the placement of all the nicely coordinated pps. Although I like the title font, I do wish it were bigger and glittery, and I'd like to see the hand journaling in darker, thicker writing. I don't really think you need anchoring in the bottom right, because I think your tree photo does that. If you must, a ribbon should tie it off nicely. Other than those minor critiques, it's great to see your fabulous work in action!
SHCG: This is awesome - I love that each ornament has its own explanation and that you have a pic of the entire tree. I don't think you really need anything more in the lower right corner - I think this is great as is!
SHCG: Love it Tiffany! I seem to remember glancing at this previously, for some reason, lol. I love how you used the diecut shape in this page and journalled around the edge of it. The use of the small photos with a small little blurb about each is wonderful. I looove how you used the photo corners as arrows to join the pics with journalling. Awesome job!
WOW, Tiffany, I'm so glad you're scrapping again & that you've hit the ground running w/ such a stunning & meaningful page! What an awesome tradition w/ the ornaments. I love everything you have going on here - the rich & lovely layered pp, the overall design, the VERY innovative use of photo corners as tiny arrows directing my eyes to the next neato thing to look at. So wonderful to see & read about everyone's ornaments! Sure I could see a little added dimension, perhaps a horizontal row of say 3 square brads in red, black or green on the lower right on the plaid pp. But I didn't even think that until I read your description. Truly, this is a stunner as is. You ROCK, Tiff!
Every year, each member of my family chooses an ornament is representative of their year. This is the layout commemorating the ornaments for 2007.
Footnote: It has been some time since I have scrapped and I am aware that this layout needs something (specifically in the bottom right to anchor it); however, I am so happy to be getting things down again that I decided not to obsess and shut down over it. I decided to declare it finished, as is, to help me start scrapping again, but will happily accept any suggestions.
