Last year, when going through my late father's condo, my DD Jen and I decided to gather up all his favorite shirts and handkerchiefs to make in a quilt for each of us. We took the to Jen's friend, Cassie, who made us these treasured quilted wall hangings.

This is a portion of my quilt. Seeing these different pieces of my Dad's flannel and Hawaiian shirts bring back a lot of memories for me. For example, the tiny plaid square to the upper right of the large plaid square is from the shirt Dad always wore on our trips to Vegas. The large purple & black Hawaiian square was a shirt that matched one of my Mom's tops - I have a photo of the two of them posing in these shirts outside of their favorite restaurant - Asia Garden - in Anchorage. The little bulls-eye designs are from hankies I'd bought for him. A piece of my Mom's blouse is on the far lower right.
