Wow, a stunning page. All your work really paid off. This is gorgeous. I love all the little details. Those maps are particularly wonderful. Very original and creative.
This LO really stretched my artist talents (because I don't have any LOL). I squirted my gold paint around the edge of scalloped paper, then painted orange wave. The title is painted then I used gold pen to outline edges and gold paint to dab on dots. I painted white around photo in swirls to give a wave look and highlighted with my beloved gold paint.
I used all my shiny gems to create the treasure on the folded corners, the crown is a brad which I added stick-on gems to, I cut little circles from a embossed doily(not sure of my spelling-Oh hey there's a spell check at the top, might try that) to look like gold coins amoung the treasure.
The treasure map was fun to create. I looked online for pics of treasure maps & copied the things I wanted on my corners(started with sandy color paper). Just so you know my drawing skills are about the same as a preschooler but if I have a picture I can copy it reasonably well(although my husband says my pirate ship is very stick-figure-like). Then I tore the corners & screwed them up & folded them. I then inked edges with thick layer of brown ink then lightly inked with black on edges & brushed both the black & brown over map to highlight creases.
The photo is my 2 cousins,my sister & me in 1980 on Bondi Beach,Sydney. Sorry I think I have rambled on a bit here. Thanks for looking!!
