This card was completed for a challenge in Critique Group 4. I was to use a specific quilt piece for inspiration. From the quilt piece, I took the pieced flower element. I also took the piecing concept of course. I also inked some of my pieces because I thought most of the fabrics in the quilt looked painted or dyed.

I used a cheap set of Christmas stencils (I think they are actually intended to apply faux snow to windows. Anyway I cut out a black shape and left the center. Then, I cut the red and put it over the black. Then I put both of those onto a bigger black backing piece. At this point I applied gold Stickles for the dots in the middle, but I misapplied and wiped them away. In the process, some of the Stickles got stuck on the edges of the flower. I liked the mistake and repeated it. Of course, I did finally finish with the dot applications.

The Happy Holiday in gold is just a sticker. I doodled tiny little gold dots on the white paper also... and inked it as well.
