Yes it's THAT Copacabana. According to the story we were told in tap, they turned the song into a play but the play flopped here in the states but it did really well in London. The theme of our 2008 show was red carpets so we opened with Royal Palace Theater in London's red carpet dance to pieces from the play "Copacabana" and yes we did dance to "At the Copacabana." Like usual, this wasn't the only tap costume we had...there was also a cha-cha skirt and different head piece we wore when doing this dance. I don't know why we all took picture in the feathers...I guess they looks more show girl-ish or something.
As an aside, we did have to sing parts of "At the Copacabana" while we danced...but I had a problem. See, there's another version of the song called "At the Star Wars Cantina" and I like that version better. I wound up singing about Yoda instead of Lola...thankfully I'm not that loud so no one heard me! No...that's not my hair...that's a new hair piece!
