OK this is just not fair! You are getting to play int the dirt already????? I am SO Jealous! Have you ever had to redo any of your raised beds? Mine are getting a little "worn out" looking and I asked DH to replace them for me this year as an anniversary present. Trying to decide if I want to stick with the same style made from landscaping timbers or go a different route. Any advice?
ooo good think to know about the soaker hoses. Dh wanted me to get some. I told him no. BUT since I want to expand my flower beds...i may need a way to water some, due to limited time.
My husband (who is a Professional Engineer) installed a watering system in my raised-bed garden a couple of years ago. Best thing in the WORLD! Except we were using soaker hoses... and they do NOT hold up well in the Texas summers, so we were always springing leaks and having to replace them (which is NOT fun at all!!!) So this year he has decided to replace the soaker hoses with bubblers... don't know if he likes the way it's working just yet, but it was just an idea! :) (btw - the plants you see in this bed are broccoli & cauliflower sets, onions, and the tiny little seedings are rows of radishes, carrots & spinach)
