A few years ago Robert's handball team sponsored a trip to visit castle ruins at the Swabian Alps which is about a half an hour drive from where whe currently live. It was a fun-filled day with a brief history of the former castle inhabitants to how they made swords etc. The kids participated in "knight games" and baked bread plus grilled sausages over an open fire.
For this layout I traced the castle layout on paper and then cropped it. Took a bit of time but I wanted something to capture the mood/spirit of the day.
