I love the combination of geometrics on this. the polka dot paper is the perfect foil for all the diamond points. And the color combinations are terrific. Great use of that stamp....looks like an old fashioned paper or decal. Your doodling is so fine....great job all around.
The LO is wonderful (and I love that stamp, too!) but the journaling almost brought me to tears. Soooo beautiful! I'm sure your son was touched by it. You do really great work. Pat

What a perfect page, with the exception of the loss suffered by you and all of Allen's loved ones. No wonder you just had to have that stamp, it's perfect for this page. And the butterfly...well butterflies are genderless as your layout clearly shows. You have a gift and I'm sure that Matthew must cherish this page.

Oh Susan, your journaling is always so sincere and heartfelt but this time it was so profound; I had tears in my eyes as I read your heartbreaking journaling. I cannot begin to imagine your pain at the time...This layout is just so lovely, so perfect in every way. What an amazing person and mom you are!!
Such wonderful journaling...brought tears to my eyes. I am so sorry that u lost your husband even before your son was born. This page is lovely. I love the doodling templates with the diamonds.
Love the diamonds in this. Crafter's workshop have some great new templates out...can't wait to buy a few! Beautifully laid out and eloquently journaled. What an adorable little boy...who fathered equally beautiful children of his own. Love it!
Wow Susan, such beautiful journaling. I had no idea you lost your husband with two small children and a third one on the way, I'm so sorry! I love pics with journaling, but when it's written like yours in the form of a letter, it's always extra special. The LO is beautiful too, I love all the diamond shaped embellies and the soft colours with the dark matting.
Awwwww! Your journaling is so touching! Just the way I feel about my youngest! That little stamp is great and the coloring you did is perfect! I also love the blocks! Boy, is he a happy baby!!

Well Susan, your certainly brought tears to my eyes! It doesn't hurt that my baby boy, now 22, is also named Matthew! That stamp was made for this pic, and the diamond groupings are so creative and lovely! Beautiful work!

This is so darn cute.....very interesting design and unique!!! Love it! The photo of your son is so cute!!! I love that age! As alsways, your journaling is superb!!! I just put this template on my wish list...thanks for the inspiration!!!
This is my beautiful redheaded "baby", Matthew at about 2 months old. (He will be 30 in February). He was a BIG newborn, weighing in at 10 lbs 12 ounces at birth! I tried a couple of new things on this. The little boy with the sailboat is a stamp that I've had FOREVER and never used..but had to have! LOL! I colored it with chalks. All the diamond shapes are pop dotted for a little added dimension. The embellie in the title work is a "flower" of sorts that I made by fanfolding a strip of paper and then glued the ends together to help form the "flower"...VERY time consuming! LOL! I tried to keep the layout "boyish" but couldn't resist adding the butterfly! Journaling is tucked behind the top of the photo and reads:
Matthew, you are my baby boy. It doesn't matter if you're almost 30 years old; you're still my baby boy. You were our surprise baby. In 1978, your Daddy and I were living in Tennessee. In May of that year, your Daddy got a promotion that meant moving to Fayetteville, Georgia. We had the girls – Traci had just turned 3 and Kimmer was about 18 months old. We were planning to have one more child, but we had thought we'd wait until after the move and we got settled in. But it seems that God had other plans for us, and I am so thankful for that. We found out that we were expecting you about two weeks before your Daddy died. So, he did know that we were expecting a baby, and he even told me that this was “our boy.” We had decided on the name Matthew several years before you were born. I decided to name you Matthew Allen, so that you would have part of your Daddy with you always. Your Daddy would be so proud of the man that you've become. I watch you with your children now, and I see a lot of your Daddy's personality in you. You're a wonderful Daddy to Allen and Helen Grace, and I'm proud of you too. I love you…and you will always be my “baby boy.” Matthew Allen – Age 2 months – April 1979 Journaling – January 2009
