First - this is NOT the moon, but the brightest star I'd ever seen. At first I thought it was a plane in the sky, but after watching it for several minutes (it never moved), decided it must be a star. I guess it could be a planet.

Second - that red dot -- is this Mars? I have no clue. Whatever, I was highly impressed with the capabiliity of my camera in taking this shot. I used a "gorilla-pod" on the hood of my car, but had to keep my hand on it to prevent slippage (the car was frosty).

Also, if you enlarge the photo, you can see what looks like dust or "noise" -- actually, it's stars. Millions of 'em. Billions.

How cool is that?!
