I hear ya Phoebe & I totally agree!...btw the 'good dishes' are staying...the others are going into the Moving Sale!...Planning on buying a new set of everyday dishes at Walmart very soon! But, I hear ya & know what you mean! Thanks! ;)
I'd be at a loss as to what to take. I've never given up any of my craft supplies. Other things have always went first. Really what does a couple need with 8 place settings worth of dishes. (My MIL didn't think that was funny ethier but I got to keep all my goodies) :D
10 Items That Can Afford To Stay - 1. Completed Albums 2. Non-scrapped pics 3. Sentimental papers 4. Extra albums 5. Idea Books (as much as I love em, I wouldn't want them to get ruined!) 6? 7? 8? 9? and 10? (still brainstorming!)
Thank You! A Very Good Point V!!...Sidenote, I'm already doing this with the linens (washing, drying, sealing & packing)...However, it did not at all occur to me, to possibly do this for my supplies (& I would think, especially so in the case of paper!!) Thank You!! ;)
I think you might have problems with humidity there. Things rusting or even rotting. Try to get a bunch of those "space bags" that people use for blankets and such, that you can suck out the air with your vacuum. Use that in your shipping, this way you'll have plenty there and even in a flood situation, your stuff will stay dry.
1. Worse Case Scenerio - Typhoon-wise, 2002 was one of their more recent/as of most recent major hits to the island. Flooding, loss of power, etc. Also, in addition, a bad one hit the base housing as recently as 07. Anyways, from what I can tell & have always been told, typhoons are something to have to 'just try and just get use to' as a yearly common occurance. On that note, Ugh!
2. Space Issues - jfyi space is going to be somewhat limited for housing. So....with that tidbit in mind, I've come to the conclusion that I (literally) can't take it all with me!
3. No liquids = No Stickles! Aagh!!
How to decide what to take and what not to take is the question of the hour!
I only have a limited amount of time to figure it out & come up with a plan! Also, keep in mind, no shelving & no extra closets for supplies.
Question of the Day to consider - If you were moving to a smaller space & had to decide...What Top 10 (Scrapbooking) Items would you take along with you no matter what!...p.s. Please feel free to include 10 Scrapbooking Items that you could do without, if & as needed!
My list (so far)
1. My rolling tote
2. My basic tool kit! (Trimmer, scissors, paper piercer, Xyron X, circle, square punch, Cropadile, pens, a ruler)
3. A couple of empty 12x12 binders, with empty page protectors included to fill up with LO's of our time there. (At least 1 for each year there!)
4. Adhesive (stock up!)
5. Paper (And how much exactly will be the question!)
