Journaling:
Costa Brava is on the Northern Coast of Catalonia extending from Portbou to Blanes. It is well known for it beaches and resorts, with a scenic and rugged coastline. The coastline consists of a succession of coves, cliffs, and mountaintops. It is a true vacation spot for many Europeans and tourists in Barcelona. We spent the day at a resort called Lloret de Mar and then we took a bus ride over to the city of Girona to visit a 13th century cathedral. Lloret de Mar was stunning! The water was crystal blue and the sand on the beach was so white and fine. Most of us laid out for a little while and were rewarded with a tan or sunburn. Of course I burned! Mike and I were so silly. There was this tall stonewall that we kept trying to climb up but of course we never made it up to the top! Gail snapped our picture when we were about half way up. Anyways it was on our way back to the bus that Mike just kissed me on the cheek and told me that he liked me. Funny. I was just getting over my crush of Chris and along comes Mike. I have to say though that Costa Brava was a lot of fun and a nice break from all the sightseeing. It just seemed by that point that all castles and cathedrals looked alike! I guess that is why I didn’t bother to take any pics of the cathedral in Girona.
