Your first picture (p.2)

Page 2 in the pregnancy album. Journaling reads:

Can you believe this is the first picture of you in my belly? Daddy and I went to Paris early in July 2008 to meet up with my whole family. This picture was taken after a special dinner at the same hotel/restaurant where Daddy proposed. Little did we know what was coming!

Wven though it was too early to tell, or even to test, I had a very vivid dream before we left Paris that I was a few days late. I told Daddy about it, but we agreed to wait until we got back to Berlin to test. In the meantime, we were busy taking my family all over Paris, visitng Versailles, and riding the trains to Amsterdam and back to Berlin. And I couldn't stop wondering - was it just a dream, or could I have a little Speck starting to grow?

I told you first: Of course Daddy was the first person I told - even when I only suspected and hoped. He's not just your father, and a very equal partner in the whole process of trying to conceive you, he's also my very best friend. Any news we have - good or bad - we share with each other first.

I started reading about pregancy long before you came along. I can't understand that some mommies-to-be really have to think about whom they'll share the news with first. I was eager to tell your grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and my close friends - but not before I told your father! Whom else would I ever share this with???
