Beautiful lo! Love the pps, the way you did the title, and most especially the wonderful journaling; shame on them for not using this great piece of art :)
omg, I can't believe it wasn't used leora....this is stunning, your journaling is incredible and or course, Janice's photo is GORGEOUS!! love the pp combo, your title work and your handwriting ROCKS! i love this!
Well, I don't know why they wouldn't use it, it's a beautiful lo, I especially love the way the journaling (really sweet) looks on the lo, and the pic is adorable too. I'm sure they liked it, maybe they just didn't have room. MM sent one of mine back one time with a goodie box and said that the space didn't permit it to be in the issue, which I was kinda sad, but the goodie box helped!!!!
I was supposed to have this featured in Scrabook Answers but when I got my LO back with an issue, it was there. :( I guess they didn't like it afterall...OH well. The pic is of Janice Lund's little boy..she let me "borrow" it! :)
Journaling reads: This picture from a dear friend serves as a reminder that the simplest moments are the most magical and memorable. Looking back on Christmases past, I am finding that the memories conjured up are simple, yet classic. I remember squinting at every light in the sky from my window, debating with my twin sister as to whether or not it was Santa’s sleigh. I remember the tray full of crackers and cheese, as well as homemade cookies and peanut brittle, all waiting to be devoured after the reading of the Christmas story. I remember choosing a needy family to leave gifts on their doorsteps for the 12 days of Christmas. I remember the excitement of knowing that Santa is REAL and that he truly cares about each and every child in the world. I remember the chills I got from singing a duet of Oh Holy Night, with me as Soprano and my twin as Alto. Fast forward to the present and you will find the same simple, classic traditions in my home that I now share with my children. The feeling is still alive and thriving as I try to find a balance between the Magic of Christmas and the Spirit of Christmas, just as my mom and dad did. I appreciate their efforts in teaching us about service and compassion during this time of year, but what I appreciate even more is their efforts in continuing this lesson all year long. In a world full of commercialization for the Holidays, it is hard to send that message to my own children. I am hoping that my own efforts to promote peace and goodwill will be more than just a cliché for my children. I am hoping that their own memories from Christmases past will include the Spirit and the Magic of Christmas.
