I always see these sorts of things, but I never hear of anyone that has done it. It makes you think more about the people when you hear from someone that is doing it to keep a memory alive.
Shortly after our daughter died our city council ran a fund raiser to put up old fashioned street lights along are downtown. When you donated money for the light, you got to add a sentiment to a plaque. We donated our light to our daughter, in loving memory, Cassidy Loraine Woodworth. Her street light is right outside of the only Bank in town, that way everyone going in and out of the bank will be reminded about how precious life is. This way her gifts will live on. Hopefully it will cause people to stop and remember their loved ones, or perhaps go home and hug their child, and just remember what is precious for them cannot be taken for granted.
