In October, Allison & Sarah met their Bartholomew grandparents for
the first time. Grandpa was called as a mission president for our Church
in 2004 and left just one week before the twins were born. I thought for sure the
babies would be born before they left on their mission at my 37 week
mark, but we had no such luck. My doctor wouldn’t induce before 38
weeks, and despite lots of signs, we had no luck before then. So we
were grateful for the chance the Bartholomews had to visit Salt Lake
in October of 2005. Grandpa came for minor surgery and Grandma
came along. Allison & Sarah were at the height of their stranger
suspicions, so they didn’t really warm up to them, but it was a start,
anyway. And there will be plenty of time for a relationship when the
Bartholomews return home in 2007.
