Beautiful layout and it is true what you say about pit bulls. Our Princess is also a gentle gaint who thinks she is still a lap puppy. thank you for sharing this beautiful layout!
My nieces dog is called Roxy...she's a very gentle, laid back Rottweiller. Conclusion: forget the breed, all dogs named Roxy's are gentle!
Love the red. Great layout.
so cute! the doggie and the lo are adorable! great work! as Mrs. Hutch said there are no bad doges just bad owners! sooo true, i cannot agree more!! love the lo!
Ooooh that is wonderful that she is the Good Will Ambassador of the breed! I'm like you and really afraid of these (what we consider) more aggressive breeds. Such a darling face!
i am so glad to read that journalling! i love when a sweet pit bull changes how someone feels about them. they are amazing, smart dogs.. there are no bad dogs, just bad owners!! i love this LO.. it makes me all teary!!
What she said!!! Sue is right -- it's the owners that ruin a dog. So, so sad. Roxy is beautiful! I love how you did the 'sweet heart' with the bingo card!
LOVE the page!!! It's those horrible PEOPLE that train pit bulls to fight that give them a bad name, same as chows. My son has the sweetest gentle chow/mix ever. Looks like Roxy needs to be the 'poster dog' to show others how sweet she is too!
I know what you mean about fear of this breed, got to admit I have that same feeling, you've done a great job with this LO it is really cool, and congrats for getting to know Roxy.
This is a wonderful LO!!! Love the 'sweet' and then the 'heart'!!! Genius, K!! Love the pp you used for this dog LO!! Roxy looks adoraable Sadly, here in the Detroit area, most pit bulls are deemed dangerous and are very rarely able to be rehabbed and adopted. They are then "destroyed". There is HUGE drug and dog-fighting presence in D-town and people have them only for status or for fighting. Chain 'em up in basements and garages. Its a whole huge issue up here and an epidemic it seems. Most of the rescue groups in the area are inundated with pits and pit mixes. Its a shame more people won't give this breed a chance!!
Love this Karen...the red and white together is AWESOME!! You know what..I never judge a dog by the stories that go around about them because I believe that they are all individuals and should not totally be judge by their breed. I had a Rottweiler many many years ago and same story...bad reputation...but he was just the most amazing dog and I never ever had any reason to be afraid of him even though I only got him at the age of 8. Just shows!!
I knew this had to be one of your pages, Karen!! I especially like the bg pp (love), the red doily, fiber & the checked & dotted ribbon...bright, happy....FUN :)
Such a pretty girl! Poor pittys always get a bad rap! You never hear the good stories about them! They are wonderful! My best friend has 2 and her daughter uses the male for a pillow all the time!! He is her protector!! Great LO, I'm glad she changed your mind!
Roxy is a Pit bull who belongs to my bff's oldest son. I have always been afraid of this breed because of the stories that circulate about their viciousness. Roxy singlehandedly has become the Ambassador of Good Will for me in my understanding of Pit bulls. She is amazing!! I have never met a more laid back, curious, intelligent, and gentle dog.
Nate has trained her to do so many tricks and she has charmed many people like me who once were fearful of Pit bulls.
The journaling says: Dear, dear Roxy, you have forever changed my mind about Pit bulls. I'm not afraid anymore! What a sweet girl you are; so gentle, loving and smart. Ambassador of good will and dog love, you have earned a special place in my heart.
