This was done for the Srap 4 God April Challenge #1.

The photo is one of my senior pictures from high school.

Journaling: I did not grow up in a Christian home. When I was young I remember attending sunday school but God was not mentioned in our home. My parents divorced when I was 8 years old. We moved to Ohio with my moms new boyfriend (who would later become my stepdad). While in elementary school I attended church with a friend. I even remember taking a pamphlet home and praying the prayer on the back. But I really didn't know what I had done and it was hard to take any of it seriously when my friend treated it all as a joke. So I stopped going after a while. It wasn't until 7th grade that I met the person who would help to change my life. We were assigned seats on the school bus and I was seated next to Becky Newell. We talked everyday but didn't really hang out much until we got into high school. That's when I got really depressed and suicidal. Becky was the only friend who tried to help me. My other friends just thought it was cool. I knew there was something different about Becky and I soon found what I was searching for as I started attending church with her. I spent a lot of time at Becky's house due to my mom and stepdad constantly fighting. One evening I asked Becky about salvation. She went and got her mom and they prayed with me. I was 16 years old and I asked Jesus into my heart. Through the years I have strayed from and outright disobeyed the Lord at times but I know that He continues to love me and will not forsake me. And for this reason I will continue to live for Him.

Verse: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
