I still have my original Barbie, but she's not in the best shape!! I also have a Midge and the original Skipper too with the big blue case and all the clothes, shoes, and extras. We didn't know about Barbie Dreamhouses back then, so my friends and I stacked cardboard boxes to make our Barbie houses. We got wallpaper samples from the local paint store and really macked out her digs! Thanks for taking all of us Baby Boomers down Nostalgia Lane! You are such an inspiration!
Don't I regret not still having my original Barbies. I too had the blonde ponytail with the black and white suit and a redhead bubble Barbie. When I looked at this page I recalled rainy days in 6th grade when we had to stay inside and we all brought our Barbies to play at recess.
I love this album you're making. One of these days I want to make one too and have started to compile a list of my memories due to your inspiration! This LO is greatI so remember those barbies vs the ones my DDs had!. I like the opposite corner decorations alot.
Journaling (behind large photo opposite page): My friends, Janice and Cathy and I love to play Barbie Dolls. In fact we spent hours playing Barbies. We all had some of the first Barbies out. I had a blonde ponytail Barbie and a blonde Ken doll. Janice had a brunette ponytail Barbie and Cathy had a red-headed bubble cut Barbie. My Barbie came with a black and white striped swimsuit. I also had the pink case and the two dresses shown (photos on opposite page), among others. I wish I had that Barbie today as they are very collectable.
