This LO is for the Febuly Challenge -- week 7: Frogs. The only requirement was to include frogs (or toads) somewhere in the LO.

I'm not really scrapping 2008 pictures yet, but I had to pull these out for this challenge! They are from a trip to Brookfield Zoo in July 2008 for Beanie Baby Days. The first 4000 children each day that weekend get a free Beanie, and in '08, it was a frog in honor of the Year of the Frog -- a global initiative to raise awareness of the dangers facing many amphibian species today. FYI -- The International Union for the Conservation of Nature predicts that at least 1/3 of known amphibian species are in danger of extinction due to habitat loss, climate change, pollution, and other factors including the deadly disease Chytridiomycosis. This disease, caused by a fungus, is destroying amphibian species and populations, and we could be facing the largest mass extinction since the dinosaurs.

Since there were so many frogs in my pictures, I didn't use any other frog embellies. I recolored white letters w/ green inks to recreate the logo for the Year of the Frog. I wanted a jungle feel so I used some left-over ribbon vines.

TFL!
