Katy "helping" me decorate the 2005 tree.

Journaling:
Almost two weeks before Thanksgiving, you came down with Fifth’s Disease, a common childhood virus that results in a fever, a severe cold, & is followed by a rash.

Not even a week after recovering from that, you became very ill with pneumonia and an ear infection (one of your ear tubes has already come out). Poor child. You were sick for nearly a month and just didn’t act like yourself during this entire time.

I was pleasantly surprised when you wanted to join me and decorate the tree rather than lying on the couch and watching cartoons as you had for weeks it seemed. You were insistent that you would help mommy “make it pretty” and did just that. You loved pulling the ornaments out and looking at them almost as much as I do.

My favorite part was how you kept calling the red bows “butterflies” and handing them to me “mama, a butterfly for you!” When you were “done”, just one side of the tree was covered in decorations from the bottom to about one foot up! So stinkin’ cute. I hope this is a new tradition for you and I so we can always giggle about the Christmas butterflies.

Products used:
