Wow, not exaggerating when I say this is in my top 5 favs (not that my opinion is anything special... lol), but I look at ALOT of LOs. This is just awesome. Great work!!!
Okay......I am picking my jaw up now...I'm speechless. What do I comment on first?? I love everything...the french knots, the pearls, the stamping, the sketch. The pic is adorable and what a wonderful memory. Absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness!!!! this is just incredibly beautiful!!! Like a fairytale!!! Loving all the pretty details!! the stitching and the punched blooms.....totally a fave!! beautiful work Betty!!
This layout all came about because I wanted to try my hand at making these Dahlia flowers I have seen other doing - once I got them made, I had to do a layout to use them on! LOL! So here it is...
Journaling reads: "Growing up, our elementary school would have “Beauty Pageants”. Anyone who wanted to could enter and most years my mom would enter us girls. This photo was taken the year I was in second grade. I remember Mama taking me to the beauty shop to get my hair done by her hairdresser, Imogene. The gown was borrowed from my cousin Judy. I truly felt like a little princess that night, all dressed up in my beautiful gown and my poufy hairdo." 1965
The pps are Graphic 45, I used a lot of different stamps on here, several punches, lacing, tons of doodled dots on the stamped designs and the border of vines is all hand doodled. The two circles are stitched with brown DMC, then I added peach and green french knots and glass beads randomly around the circles. The beads in the middle of the flowers are from sgoetter. After punching the scalloped edges, I stitched in the inner holes, then added french knots and doodling. The leaves are stamped, inked and then handcut. There is hidden journaling on the tag behind the top of the pic. There are four different distressing techniques here: torn paper, distressed edges done with a distressing tool, sanding the photo edges and distressing on the green horizontal paper with a rolling tool that makes tiny pricks in the paper. The layout design is from one of Beggahuna's sketches. This is for several challenges. Thanks so much for looking.
