Ah...it's also my laundry room which I find VERY handy as I can do both activities at once! My hubby wanted me to use one of the bedrooms, but they all have new carpet and if I dropped paint,,well, enough said there! Any how..on top of the washer unit I have baskets..with tags. These store my sewing machine threads, yarns, fibers, and material. Works great. The File cabinet holds my books, my ephemera, my tools, and is handy dandy right behind my chair! My room is 12 by 15 and does have a window which I put my hutch across as I didn't like the light hitting me in the face as it made it difficult for me to properly tell what color something was.
