You should write storybooks! You have such a way with words, that as I'm reading them, I right there with you at your family reunion. What a sweet memory of your dad, and what a wonderful family you have! And I hope that you added that last paragraph someplace, so years from now you can read it again! Beautiful page, beautiful picture, beautiful memory!
Such a beautiful page. Such beautiful memories. You did a wonderful job honoring your father. I have been trying to do a similar page. Thanks for the inspiration.
I am all teary-eyed now....What beautiful journaling. Your words are a treasure. What a wonderful man your father was and how proud he would be to be remembered in this way. This is such a beautiful tribute. The page itself is lovely too. I love the way you did the inking on the edges. No idea quite how you did it but it looks terrific. I love the title work and the quote at the bottom. The pp is so cute and the ric rak is perfect. Just wonderful.
What sincere and heartfelt journaling. How wonderful to have such sweet and cherished memories. So sorry about your loss; it's always hard no matter how old they are. What a wonderful tribute you created.
Wow- your journaling is just beautiful- soo heartfelt and touching!! I know this was really hard for you but you did a wonderful job! Such a sweet tribute to Grandpa! Fantastic layout- love the title lettering and the inking! Awesome work!
This is very touching! It reminds me of my father - he and my mom had 8 kids and he was also very hard working. My dad was 77 when he passed away in 1998.

This made me cry...so sweet. You did a beautiful job with your journaling. I don't like to do it, either, but sometimes you just have to. Your tribute is so touching. Thanks for sharing.
This is absolutely beautiful! (Everything you create is beautiful!) I loved your journaling...Lovely description of your dad. You must have a very loving, close knit family...(Me too!) I'm guessing you are a family of "believers" too! (Hope I didn't over step my bounds with that comment) But for as happy and close as you are, the Lord has to be involved somewhere......Happy Mother's Day! Keep your beautiful work coming! Beth
I've put off doing these pages about my Daddy for nine years, but finally have gotten to the place where I could do them. I don't like to journal, but I wanted my kids (and future generations) to remember what a special man their Grandpa was.
Journaling reads: "Daddy always worked so hard to provide for all of us, sometimes holding down three or four jobs at a time. He didn't do it to accumulate wealth; he did it simply to provide for our needs. We may not have had everything we wanted, but we never went hungry, always had clothes to wear and a roof over our heads. Even though he worked a lot, he was always there for us. I have so many wonderful memories of the times I spent with him, out in his garage or in the garden or just sitting in his lap watching TV. These photos were made at our last family reunion in October 1999. Daddy had found out in July that he had cancer and he wanted all of his kids to be there with him one more time. He passed away the following May, and, or course, we were all together again, all but him. I remember at the funeral home, people were commenting on how our family didn't seem to be in the depths of despair, we all could still laugh and have a good time together. Daddy gave us that gift - the gift of unconditional love, laughter and a close-knit family. That was the treasure he left for us. We were his treasure." written 4-18-09
Daddy was 80 years old when he passed away. I remember him telling me not to be sad, he had lived a good, long life. Of course, I did feel like a big chunk of my heart had been ripped out for a long time, and there are still moments when I miss him terribly. He did have a good life, a great life ... a wife who loved him dearly for more than 50 years, and six kids who all turned out to be fairly normal, happy people. He was a happy person, loved his family and loved to joke and laugh - these are the things I remember most.
