First off, I apologize to anyone whose eyes are damaged by staring at this layout. It's...er...kinda bright I suppose. Anyway, my modern instructor (who also teaches jazz and ballet and my solo) must have been on a 1960s kick this year because we wound up doing "Aquarius" from Hair in modern. I wound up wearing a red/orange tye-dyed combo but there were also green, purple, and blue tye-dyed costumes. I would have much rather had the green but I got stuck with the red which isn't too bad I suppose. The funny thing about this costume is that it's the dark red (for me it's red anyway) unitard under this tye-dyed drape thing. When I put the costume on and put my arms down, the drape fell off my shoulders because it was too loose. We wound up having to sew the drape at the shoulders to the unitard so it would stay on.

This dance is one dance that's responsible for very nearly ridding me of my fear of being lifted. See, whenever we had to do lifts, I was usually sent off stage because I'm not strong enough to lift up anyone but I'm also terrified of being lifted myself which, apperantly, isn't a good thing. This year though, and due to the fact there's an even number of us in the class, there was no escaping for me. I have to be lifted three seperate, harrowing times in the dance!
