Here in the Netherlands, stroopwafels (treacle waffles) are really very popular. In general, stroopwafels are considered to be for children. But in Gouda, when people drink their morning coffee, it’s practice to offer a stroopwafel.
We celebrated Stevens last birthday (he became 5) in this backery. The children backed their own cookies and took them home in a cookie jar they coloured themselves. It was great!
