I have worked on my family genealogy for years, researching my roots in South Carolina back to 1760. I've found myself going to historical societies, libraries, museums, and reunions to talk about the past, compare pictures, and learn more. I was the secretary of a genealogy group for a few years and still meet at our family cemetery twice a year to clean the cemetery, talk, and eat. It's like a mini-family reunion 2x a year. We love to look at each others pictures and many times can identify someone. Some of the older family members come just for this reason, sitting in lawn chairs and waiting for the usual chicken-bog and collards. I think your Heritage/Genealogy Album is wonderful. You should be so proud of yourself. I have done tons of family research, but have been too busy trying to do albums for my kids to begin a Heritage Album. I have so many pictures, negatives, tin types, even dageurotypes and would love to honor them with a scrapbook. I have marked your pictures under My Favorites for inspiration. This is the first page of my mother's historic collection of family photos dating back to the 1850's. It is a vellum cover with a view of a map of the farm that has been in our family for six generations.
