This is a beautiful lo. But your journaling to your daughter is what really touched me. My mom is still living but I have lost her to Alzheimer's and it is these type of sentiments that she wrote in cards and notes that I have kept over the years that now mean so much to me. What a gift for your daughter.
Okay, I love that you talked us through this lo because your work is fabulous. But the private journaling was, well...it made me tear up. What a beautiful layout in every way.
I'm am so thrilled that I got to see this LO in person. This photo doesn't do it justice. The orange/purple color combo is so unexpected, but it's gorgeous. And I love the shape of the LO. Fabulous work!
Wow! This is so beautiful....the layout and the sentiment. Love the flourish on the transparency...just bought some transparencies Wed. to try this technique out. The papers are just gorgeous and I love the journaling in white on purple background!
What wonderful heartfelt journaling. It's so great that you and your daughter have such a wonderful relationship! I love how you re-designed this and all the elements you added. Gorgeous!
Such sincere and honest journaling - love how you always include it. I'm sure that Kimberly will cherish it forever!! The tag looks awesome!! Beautiful cutting work, so precise and neat. Gorgeous colours and sweet photo. The sprinkling of orange compliments the colours perfectly and adds a wonderful touch! Love it all, Susan!!
One of the photos I took of my daughter, Kimberly, at our beach photo shoot in March 2009. The background piece is a Creative Imaginations die cut sheet. I cut the center of it out and replaced it with the purple cardstock. The swirls are stamped on transparencies. The orange dots are scraps from the hole puncher. I added some white and purple Prima blooms and touched the edges with some purple stickles. I made the journaling strips by printing my text in a text block. I made the background purple and turned my font white. The quote reads:
Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~ Elizabeth Stone
I've also tucked some journaling behind the photos that reads:
Kimmer, even though I knew that I would have to gradually release you into the world during adolescence, I've never completely let go. A piece of me will always be with you wherever you go.
