No one, and I think I have said this before, tells the heritage story like you, Annie! I think you should publish a book, seriously, about the Miller's. This page makes such a wonderful accompaniment to their photo! I love the detail and the way you have laid this page out! Fave!
You have such wonderful memories......the journaling is priceless....I love that your humor comes through.....You have truly inspired me...there is so much more that I could tell in my Heritage book.....!!!! thanks so much for sharing not only your beautiful family, but your very creative scrapping of them...It is a masterpiece.
And their story for page two - the journaling: These are MY great-grandparents, so they are your great-great-great grandparents. I was not very old when they died but I remember Grandpa Miller sitting around the kitchen table with his sons, talking and laughing, and I remember when Grandad Homer & his brothers would be playing cards and one would curse, Grandma, always sitting in her rocking chair, crocheting with tiny fine thread, would, without even glancing up, say “Boys--that’s enough” (and the “boys” would stop). Grandma & Grandpa were Amish/Mennonite and Grandma had learned to cook from the best. She was known for her delicious home-made bread. Grandpa had farmed all his life, and they moved to a house “in town” after he retired from farming. He had a soft laugh and always a smile. which, after raising 12 children, 7 of them boys, either spoke to his wonderful sense of humor or the fact they had driven him over the edge!!!
