And their story for page two - the journaling: These are MY great-grandparents, so they are
your great-great-great grandparents. I was not
very old when they died but I remember Grandpa
Miller sitting around the kitchen table with his
sons, talking and laughing, and I remember when
Grandad Homer & his brothers would be playing
cards and one would curse, Grandma, always
sitting in her rocking chair, crocheting with tiny
fine thread, would, without even glancing up, say
“Boys--that’s enough” (and the “boys” would stop).
Grandma & Grandpa were Amish/Mennonite and
Grandma had learned to cook from the best. She
was known for her delicious home-made bread.
Grandpa had farmed all his life, and they moved to
a house “in town” after he retired from farming.
He had a soft laugh and always a smile. which,
after raising 12 children, 7 of them boys, either
spoke to his wonderful sense of humor
or the fact they had driven him
over the edge!!!
