It never ceases to amaze me.....inspiration comes in many forms. I was kinda stuck on this challenge and then out of the blue, my Mother says to me "Did you know I won a poetry contest with a poem about a Lighthouse?" I didn't! She won it when she was 10 yrs old and can only remember the first four lines but that was enough to get my creative juices flowing!!! Lighthouses have spiral staircases!! SO - I decided to do a LO using my mother's poetry with photos of the Ocracoke Lighthouse that I have visited most recently in 1994 (first time was on my Honeymoon!) Anyway, I hand wrote my mother's poem in a spiral for the journaling. Products used: Daisy Bucket's Nantucket Collection papers, rhinestone circles, fabric trim, buttons, punched paper circles and Prima flowers. Enjoy!
I was just thrilled to be able to scrap a memory from a family trip AND incorporate an original poem from my mother as journaling!
Thanks for a great challenge Kia!
Oh...in case you can't read the journaling.....The Lighthouse~Out amidst the dashing waves~Stands the lighthouse white and tall~Awaiting quietly like an Indian brave~For ship to come with its frightened call.
