Boy, you sure know how to take an ordinary $9.99 punch from Martha Stewart and do something extraordinary with it! Your butterflies are killer. But most of all I love that sweet pic of you in your handmade dress, the beautiful story behind it and how you tied it in with the challenge theme. Just gorgeous.
Wow- this totally rocks!!!! I am so glad you still have that dress. I would have felt like a princess in that dress. What a wonderful way to commemorate it.
Oh Betty!! How in heavens did I miss this one!!!! It is absolutely fabulous!!! Just gorgeous. The way the butterflies look like they are taking flight from your beautiful dress is just magical!!!
I absolutely adore this! Wow! You've been busy; I just realized how many new layouts you've posted! Love all the butterflies on this. THey are so cleverly placed and the gold pen over the brown inking was such and effective and fabulous idea! I will be borrowing that one for sure! Love those MS stamps...use them all the time! This is headed straight for my faves!
Oh my!!! What a gorgeous layout! I adore all those butterflies. That's a wonderful photo of you and that lovely dress! Love the lace doily and the shaped piece with punched border! Wow! Just can't say enough!!
Gosh, we are all feeling a bit nostalgic these days! LOL! Adorable little you haven't changed that much either! Perfect dress for the butterfly challenge, and beautiful use of butterflies on the LO too!

This is me ... in 1965 ... around 2nd grade. This is for the June butterfly challenge.
Hidden journaling reads: "This is my “butterfly” dress that Mama made for me. She put so much love and work into it. The pretty collar with the appliquéd butterflies and there was a 3-D butterfly that kind of floated on a piece of trim that went around the bottom of the skirt. I still have the dress, packed away in the basement… a treasure from my childhood."
The butterflies are a MS punch, made from asst pps - vellums, handmade, mulberry, etc., then I inked them with dk. brown, edged them with a gold pen, and doodled them with a dk. brown pen, then added bling to their bodies. I also used my new MS butterfly stamps on here, along with some other butterfly and flourish stamps. After I stamped, I added a lot of doodling with the gold pen. The border around the shaped piece was punch with an EK Success border punch, then I made little slits in it so I could fit it around the curves.
