Background: I am *terrified* of airplanes. I used to be fine, but then I spent 3 years modeling airplane accident sequences for work. So now I know all kinds of new reasons to be anxious on airplanes. You probably don't want to sit next to me on an airplane... ever... because I am a basket case, I am also an adrenaline junkie...albeit an anxious, paranoid adrenaline junkie. Meet Brandon, aka "Hot Intern." He is dreamy. I had a crush on him for the whole summer of 2008 and finally convinced him that I was way cooler than anyone else he could ever possibly date. So I jumped out of an airplane with him. Ahh, the things we do for love, lol.
Anyway...about the layout. We went skydiving (tandem, thankfully, so if I passed out there'd at least be someone to yank the parachute).
Journaling reads: "It's no secret that I am afraid of flying. But I'm always willing to try something new, so I agreed to go skydiving. I've never been on a smaller plane; it only had 1 seat and space for 4 people on the floor. it took 20 minutes to climb to 10,000ft. I was so afraid of the plane that I couldn't wait to...JUMP"
The journaling is written on some notebook paper, but I folded the paper in half and made a little pocket where I stuck the business card for the place we jumped (FYI -- Snake River Skydiving in Jerome, ID -- awesome place, I'd go again if I weren't too afraid to fly back to Idaho again lol). The round picture is yours truly (and the tandem instructor guy) once the parachute was open and I was no longer afraid of dying. Parachuting is way fun, that whole jumping thing...not so fun.
The JUMP letters are chipboard and the white/black circles are nested chipboard circles. All of the white parts I painted with acrylic paint and the black circle I did with black embossing powder so it was shiny.
