This is the project in metal relief that I've been working on this week. The base is an inexpensive wooden birdhouse from Michaels. First, I made a template of each of the four sides and the two sides of the roof. Then, I painted the parts of the wooden birdhouse where there would be no metal. Next, using tools and sheets of metal that I've had for a couple of years from Ten Second Studio, I created the designs on the sides and roof of the birdhouse. After all designs were completed, I used Making Memories black acrylic paint, then wiped most of the paint off to reveal the relief. On the back of each metal surface, I spread a light spackle and waited for it to dry (one hour). Last, I adhered each surface backside to sheets of adhesive, trimmed off excess adhesive and applied them to the wooden house. TFL
