This is my son just 2 weeks after his first birthday. We took him down to the beach on an Indian summer day and he never wanted to leave. He was so entranced with the sand and surf. We took some great video of him laughing and splashing and spreading sand everywhere. I grabbed these few snapshots of him. These pics really make me smile, recalling that wonderful day with our sweet boy, his infectious joy and his immediate love of the beach.
The big cardstock circle wasn't quite the right tone of blue, so I inked it completely then outlined the edges. I also had a little trouble finding the right shade of blue for the middle of the flower. I made a small cardstock circle of navy blue, but it was a bit dark, so I overlaid it with a little piece of lace. I found a large roll of jute ribbon at a fabric store and used a strip of jute at the bottom of the page here to give the rough feel of sand.
