I thought I would share this wildlife conservation. I don't know the specifics behind it exactly, but there is a farmer close to where my folks live that has recently started planting one of thier fields (approximately 80 acres) into wildflowers. it is my understanding it is for a wildlife conservation program, specifically for birds and butterflies, but I didn't see any butterflies. Right now it is the little yellow black eyed susans (that's what I "think" they are) blooming. I missed pictures of the flowers in bloom before this, but as the season progresses, the field changes colors depending on what wildflower is in bloom. I wish I could have recorded the sound of the field as I drove by because the field was singing with song bird tunes from every direction. My picture didn't turn out very good, but I thought some of you that like your flowers and birds may enjoy this. I suspect sunflowers will be the next flower in bloom here. Next year I will have to try to get pictures as the season changes. It really is spactacular.
