Oh I love this layout in my favourite colours, pink and green - what a great combination. And that darker pink ribbon down the length of it just adds something extra too. I'm so in awe of all those roses and leaves and wonder how you did them. The photos and journaling are so precious too for your family. A great lo.!
Wow! This is a gorgeous heritage page! Your cut out work is fabulous! It is so typically true that generally the paternal side of the family isn't as close. I have all sons and knew it would happen to me too, and now see is playing out. Sons follow their wives, and the wives go home to mom! I did the same.
What a treasure! This is so intricate and detailed. Such an elegant layout!! Isn't is wonderful the certain things we remember about people. I smiled when I read about "Aint" Sallie and how she would faithfully send you five dollars each year on your birthday.
This is an amazing layout!.. Really like the design along with the papers.. You did a great job of layering the pictures and poping the one in the center.. Great job.
LOVE this K&Co paper!! So perfect for this wonderful layout!! I've actually met Brenda Arnall - she used to have a LSS here...and I spent LOTS of time there! LOL!!! Love the hand cutting...your photos are awesome!!! Makes me want to do some more heritage layouts! Beautiful work!!!
These are pictures from my paternal grandmother's side of the family. We were not as close to that side of the family, so my information is sketchy. The journaling (which is straight IRL) reads: My paternal grandmother, Cora Elizabeth Williams Garrett, was the second youngest of Henry and Sarah's six daughters. In the middle picture Cora is pictured with several of these sisters. One is surely Allie Bama, but I don't know which. Isn't Allie Bama a wonderful name? I wish I could remember her. Aside from my grandparents, Aunt Sallie (alone in the top picture; second to left in bottom two photos) is the only older relative on my father's side whom I can remember. Born in 1882, she was five years older than my grandmother, Cora. Several things stand out in my memory about her: She was so tall, straight, and thin. We called her "Aint" Sallie, not Aunt Sallie. She sent me a birthday card each year with five dollars in it. The layout design is based on a sketch by Brenda Arnall from the November 2008 issue of Creating Keepsakes.
